Scoop-Rocker:

The bottom curve is designed to glide as flat and smooth as possible over the water but still have enough height at 1500mm and at the nose to prevent diving into the upcoming chop. The flatter rocker-line planes early and produces great control with easy gybing abilities.

Outline:

The SL 87 has a wider nose and straighter curve in the middle area combined with a slightly narrower tail to keep the maximum control and speed in high winds.

Bottom Shape:

Flat panel V in the tail to the middle area for maximum top speed. The front section has an increasing V shape with double concaves and side flats to give a smooth ride and allow the rails more height to clear the water while fully planing.

Deck Shape:

A full nose area provides good flotation and balance in maneouvres. A flat deck between the footstraps makes the board responsive to foot pressure producing easier and more controlled gybes.

Rail Shape:

A boxy rail throughout the entire board to avoid water catching and provide flotation after gybing.

Construction:

A compromise between lighter weight, higher performance and control. To go fast, control is important and so construction with flex and impact absorbing materials is the choice for our Slalom boards. A full deck Biax-Carbon-Sandwich construction allows the board to flex but is resistant to twist. To avoid making the board too stiff taking hard impacts against the chop we use a combination  of two glass layers with different weight specification. This also helps to reduce the overall weight of the board. To have the same optical graphic aspect on both the deck and bottom we are using black resin with 75% sanded off white paint for minimum weight.
